"E" for Earthwork

After the trees were taken care of....Katie was anxious to get some plants in the ground (particularly the Japanese blossom she got on sale for $50) but Danny had plans to build a rock wall. We haven't had any real "long-term" plan as far as the landscaping (although we probably should). All we knew was that we wanted some curb appeal w/o spending a lot of money. The rest of the yard can come later (like once there is a toilet since that takes precedents at this point).

For couple weeks we just had scattered rocks and a pile of dirt in our front yard.

Setting up drain for run off

Rope has hops growing up (beam needs to go under the house-not permanent). Right now we have one raised bed that's producing tons of kale and tomatoes. Hope to add a couple more boxes next season.
Looking down our streets with the cherry blossoms at their best. Apparently the Lettered Streets Neighborhood Association got a grant for each resident to plant a tree to line the street. Our house didn't plant one in front. I think the tenants before weren't too concerned about this type of thing.
